If you are like every other person on the planet, you are probably worried about the condition of your skin in general. And specifically, you are probably worried about the skin on your face. I mean, nothing says more about you in as short of a period is your face. The last thing any of us wants is to look tired, old, or blemished. Of course, and unfortunately, that is often exactly what ends up happening.
The problem with keeping our faces looking young, blemish free, and rested is that there is no single product that works for everyone. Sometimes it even seems that our skin types are as individual as our fingerprints. So, what tried and true steps can we take to avoid problems with our facial skin? First of all, contrary to popular belief, over-cleaning our faces does not prevent or clear up acne. In fact, drying out our skin can cause irritation and excessive oil production, two contributing factors of acne. This means that your skin will be clearer if you cleanse gently with a mild cleanser and moisturize adequately.
Of course, while acne can seem to be the biggest problem our faces will ever face, most moderate to severe acne will clear up in our twenties. And for most people, after the acne clears up, you start to notice the issue of wrinkles. Unfortunately, there is not a single 100% proven wrinkle cure. However, there are multitudes of ways to prevent them. Keeping your skin healthy and hydrated, as well as protected from the suns damaging rays, will go far to prevent them in the first place.
Wrinkle treatment is a much different animal than wrinkle prevention, and while some treatments are much touted, none has been proven to work for every person in every situation. And they run the gambit from lotions and potions to Botox and lasers. For this reason, if you are seriously considering investing time and money into wrinkle treatments, it is advisable that you consult a reputable dermatologist and get their advice before proceeding. This step can save you time, money, and disappointment over the course of your treatment.
